About the position
The Associate will be working in an independent support group assisting the US Independence group in personal and engagement-related independence matters.
Broadly, The Key Responsibilities Are
- Independence Support Group(ISG) Delivery – Be a part of the team that is responsible for service delivery and ensure timely and quality deliverables
- Content & Industry Focus – Build strong domain expertise (independence) and Industry knowledge to enable effective collaboration with International counterparts in KPMG and Clients
Roles And Responsibilities
The Associate will be predominantly responsible for:
- Assist the US independence group with maintaining independence by the professional standards and firm policies
- Research and gather the required information from various external and internal tools to gather organizational information.
- Analyze the client structure, its affiliates, service line, and people of the firm to be Independent of the Audit client with regards to different regulatory authorities.
- Perform research, analyze data, make determinations, and document results to support conclusions.
- To support the Engagement Teams on new client acceptance by drawing information from various sources and conducting analysis on its independence.
- Use tools and techniques to perform Independence related checks on mergers and acquisitions of various audit and non-audit clients.
- Review of the reported personal independence matters and provide an initial assessment to onshore teams.
- Other ad-hoc projects as the department determines from time to time, including providing general support to other independence activities.
Qualifications
- Post-Graduation from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 1 year of client service or related business research experience; preferably within the independent group of a professional services firm or similar environment
- Critical thinking, analytical, and research skills with the ability to evaluate information to make a decision
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to details and documentation standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
