Graduate Project Officers

WANTED: University graduates

We'll be the first to admit it – we're getting old! Not only do our origins lie with Western Australia's first Surveyor General in 1829, but our workforce isn't getting any younger either. That's why we're specifically seeking university graduates who are under the age of 25, as a measure to improve our diversity, in line with the Equal Opportunity Act (WA) 1984.

Landgate's Graduate Program is a structured 2 Year program, and next year's program commences in February 2021. By Joining a public sector agency renowned for innovative practices, you will gain practical knowledge and experience across our business, laying the foundation for a successful career in the public sector.

In 2021 we are open to graduates from all fields of study, however, qualifications related to Valuations, GIS, Surveying, Spatial Sciences, Statistics and Data Analytics, Law, Policy, Business, Marketing and Commerce are highly desired.

Graduates will work on a variety of projects across the business, making use of their individual qualifications, skills, experience, and interests and will work with people who value collaboration, flexibility, and innovation.

During the program you'll be supported by an experienced mentor from within the business, participate in a tailored professional development program (both on and off the job), build networks with current and past graduates from within Landgate and across the public sector, and have access to our extensive wellbeing program.

To learn more about what our Graduate program is really like, check out our website.

If you need to, you can contact Laura Grant, Strategic P&C Consultant, on 08 9273 7009 or email Laura.Grant@landgate.wa.gov.au to discuss the program in more detail (but don't send your application here).

So… what are we really after?

It's a special kind of person who becomes a successful Landgate graduate. Our best graduates are:

  • Team players
  • Creative, innovative thinkers
  • Great problem-solvers
  • Super organised
  • But most of all… positive and enthusiastic!

Also, our values are vitally important to how we do our business – you'll need to be able to demonstrate you are the right cultural fit for our business. You can find out more about our values on our website, as well as more about what we can offer you as an employer.

The essential stuff…

OK, so there are a few more requirements:

  • You need to have a bachelor's degree that was (or will be) completed in 2019 or 2020.
  • You need to be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident
  • You'll need to be under 25 years old, as at 31 December 2020

Have you ticked all these boxes? If so, don't delay, apply today!

We understand you're busy – exams, essays, study groups, work and of course, nights out... You don't have time to fill out lengthy applications or write long-winded essays addressing selection criteria. So, at this stage, we want to make things as easy for you as possible. If you think Landgate is the place for you, all you need to do is:

  • Provide a copy of your academic record or evidence of your degree (we need to make sure you're a recent graduate, after all)
  • Provide a copy of your CV outlining any experience and key achievements you have.
  • Once the application process closes, you will be sent a link to provide some more information (it won't take long we promise) however please ensure you detail all required information as this will be used as part of the assessment process.

(If you're successful through the first phase, there'll be more for you to do later but we will explain that when the time comes)

Vacancies will be offered on a full-time or part-time fixed-term basis. If a similar or permanent vacancy in a similar location becomes available, applicants deemed suitable may be considered.

The recommended applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment screening process prior to appointment. This includes provision of a current National Police Clearance that is less than six months old, declaration of any previous discipline or misconduct findings or allegations, and the verification of claims made throughout the recruitment process. It is the responsibility of the applicant to incur all costs associated with obtaining a Police Clearance.

Landgate is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.

Please make sure you get your application to us by the closing time as we are unable to accept late applications.
